I’d say the biggest disadvantage is the fact that although you learn the language, remain completely respectful of their culture and adapt yourself 100%, you’ll never be fully integrated in the society.
Another disadvantage is that although you’ll feel like you have lived long enough you will still encounter problems with rejection of credit cards i/o loans, people believing you don’t know Korean at all, having to explain why you are living here thousands of times even though you have been here for 1000 years… Just not very bad stuff in general 🙂
